KYN Apparel is an Edmonton based Fashion brand that serves people looking for fresh, unique and bold fashion pieces that exudes confidence!
We work with a variety of fabric, however our main objective is to blend African prints with more common fabrics such as lace, tulle, jeans, tweet etc. There are few reasons for this concept. The first reason is that we at KYN Apparel LOVE the bold, rich and colorful vibes that African prints have. Second, we want to see contemporary professional wear that transpire your style: bold, unique and confident.
Therefore, we strive to design and produce unique fashion clothing for your business and casual wear through out the hot and cold seasons.
The founder and in-house designer of KYN Apparel is Alèthe Kaboré, winner of AFAM & AC Awards (diversity Magazine) 2020 Designer of the year and featured recently on CBC news for her unique approach to fashion. Her working on providing confortable and safe and fashionable clothe face mask during the covid-19 pandemic was featured on CBC, Ici Alberta segment. As part of the holiday local gift/shopping guide she also appeared on the CBC Radio Edmonton AM.
Born and raised in Burkina Faso, she moved to Edmonton to pursue her studies and could not leave behind her love for African prints and fashion. Alèthe has always had an eye for colors and forms and has a keen interest in fashion design. She is a self-taught designer and seamstress with still a lot to learn and as much to contribute to the fashion world. Her dream is to increase the use of African prints and material in modern wear in Canadian fashion and internationally. Alèthe is looking forward to showcasing her creations and dressing you!
